One of my most asked questions is how I curl my hair and what products I use to achieve beachy effortless waves.
For the last year I’ve been using the Hot Tools 1 1/4 inch Curling Iron for effortless beachy waves. I switch techniques and curling wands depending on the type of curl I want. The 1 1/4 inch wand with the clamp is perfect for beachy curls, as long as you use the technique I’m going to show you today.
I typically like to curl second day hair because I find that it hold the curl longer.
Before applying any heat, I use the Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield which helps protect against frizz/humidity (much needed in Florida) and also has heat and UV protection.
I section my hair in two and start with the bottom half curling all of the pieces away from my face using the technique I show you in the video.
After curling both sections, I use a straightener to straighten the ends and the top pieces that frame my face.
To finish, I flip my hair upside down and run my fingers through to separate the tight curls. Then I spray a little Kristin Ess Working Texture Spray though the mid sections of my hair for texture and volume.
Lastly, I use a dime size amount of the Ouai Finishing Crème to add shine and get rid of any frizz or flyaways.
