The products I use everyday to keep my skin happy, healthy, and clear.
When it comes to skincare, I like to keep things simple! Over the years, one thing I’ve learned about my skin is that less is more. I have very sensitive skin so I find that sticking to a simple routine that consists of a handful of really great *CLEAN* products is key. Reducing the amount of steps and products I use to the bare essentials also helps me to never skip my skincare routine!
A little bit about my skin: I have dry/combination sensitive acne prone skin. I used to have lots of texture especially around my chin and I mostly break out on my cheeks. The texture has cleared (thanks to ‘Good Genes’) but I still get the occasional hormonal zits. Because my skin is sensitive, it scares very easily so I’ve been left with several acne scars that I am now trying to get rid of.
Everyone’s skin is different and different things work for different people. Here are the products I found work best for me!

I never go to sleep without taking my makeup off; it’s a rule I live by! It is so important to give your skin time to rejuvenate and breathe overnight. To remove makeup, I use the Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm as the first step in cleansing my skin. I scoop out a quarter size amount and apply it to dry skin. The balm turns into an oil as it gets massaged into the skin, instantly melting away any makeup and dirt. Using a balm to remove makeup is especially great for us gals with dry skin because it will cleanse without stripping or drying the skin.

After using the same product for a long amount of time, I notice it stops having any effect on my skin. I used the Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel (and loved it!) for over a year before I noticed my skin was getting used to it. I was looking to replace it and heard so many great things about the Youth To The People line. I gave the Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser a try and after three months of using it, I can truly say I love it! It’s still a gel formulation (like the Mario Badescu one) which I find is great for dryer skin types. Although, the cleanser is made for all skin types. It is Sulfate-free, alcohol-free, and cruelty-free, it’s non-drying and 100% vegan. The Sephora website describes it as “a daily green juice cleanse for your face with cold-pressed antioxidants to remove makeup and prevent build-up in pores, while keeping skin’s pH balanced.” Yum!!

*The product that changed everything!*
The Sunday Riley Good Genes has been one of my most recent favorites! It massively changed the look and feel of my skin! Sunday Riley’s Good Genes is a lactic acid treatment that helps reduce dullness, texture, dark spots, and fine lines. Before using this product, my skin had a lot of texture and dark spots/acne scaring. I started using it every morning and night after I washed my face and before I applied my moisturizer. Within two weeks, I noticed significantly less texture and less scaring. I’ve now been using it for just over three months now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I started by using it every day, two times a day and slowly transitioned into using it every other day only at night.

When I’m not using Good Genes, I use the Youth To The People Superfood Firm and Brighten Serum. I started using this serum because I wanted to incorporate Vitamin C and hyaluronic acid into my skincare routine. Because my skin is acne prone and very sensitive, any little blemish I get leaves a scar even though I don’t pop or mess with it…most of the time. Vitamin C is great for reducing hyperpigmentation and getting rid of dark spots. Hyaluronic acid moisturizes and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles keeping the skin looking firm and youthful.

I only recently started using eye cream because I always thought I was too young and had plenty of time until my under eyes would start showing signs of aging. Nope! I recently noticed my fine lines starting to get deeper. I wasn’t sure where to start looking for an eye cream so I turned to Youth To The People because I know my skin reacts well to their products. Their Superfood Peptide Eye Cream helps to firm and brighten the appearance of skin around the eyes. It contains hyaluronic acid for natural moisture and tripeptide 5 for natural collagen production.

For moisturizer, I use the Youth To The People Superfood Air-Whip Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Cream. I have dry to combination skin so I tend to get oily in my T-zone throughout the day. This moisturizer is good for all skin types so I find that it does a great job of moisturizing without overdoing it.

I recently discovered Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow which is a night serum containing: AHA from lactic, glycolic, citric, and fruit acids; BHA from willow bark; Flower acids from hibiscus extract; and Hyaluronic acid. All of these ingredients work together to exfoliate, promote cell renewal, target hyperpigmentation, help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, diminish pore size, and hydrate. I only use it 2-3 times a week and it makes such a difference in the look and feel of my skin!
